Angel
I was the grammar Nazi earlier...

You are one of the few out there whose wings are truly ANGELIC. Selfless, powerful, and divine, you are one blessed with a certain cosmic grace. You are unequalled in peacefulness, love, and beauty. As a Being of Light your wings are massive and a soft white or silver. Countless feathers grace them and radiate the light within you for all the world to see. You are a defender, protector, and caretaker. Comforter of the weak and forgiver of the wrong, chances are you are taken advantage of once in awhile, maybe quite often. But your innocence and wisdom sees the good in everyone and so this mistreatment does not make you colder. Merciful to the extreme, you will try to help misguided souls find themselves and peace. However not all Angelics allow themselves to be gotten the better of - the Seraphim for example will be driven to fighting for the sake of Justice and protection of those less powerful. Congratulations - and don't ever change - the world needs more people like you.

This is a really fun toy -- I found it via LeeAnn. At Googlism you type in a name and find out what it says about it on Google. Here are some of the more interesting things it said about John Kerry, along with my own personal touch.

john kerry is the political understudy of ted kennedy -- bad idea.
john kerry is a moderate liberal -- you can believe that if you want.
john kerry is a wonderful politician -- yes, but is that really a compliment?
john kerry is vulnerable -- this is good news, but not surprising.
john kerry is being called upon to 'demand' the us government increase global aids funding by $2 -- if only it was just 2 dollars.
john kerry is trying to assure -- it isn't working.
john kerry is one of the most liberal members of congress -- see, I told you!
john kerry is one of the biggest tax and spend liberals in washington -- yes.
john kerry is not the kind of guy most would cozy up to at a bar -- I can't imagine most would want to anywhere else, either!
john kerry is not the candidate to jump into the charles to amuse viewers of the evening news -- someone could push him.
john kerry is trying to grab the left wing of the democratic party -- is there a right wing big enough to grab?
john kerry is wrong on vietnam -- big shocker.
john kerry is working on revisions to legislation that regulates fishing -- as well as everything else in the world.
john kerry is my favorite candidate for 2004 -- my condolences.
john kerry is one of two senators graded this year -- I'm giving him an eFF-ing "F".
john kerry is a combat veteran -- you know, I don't think he ever mentioned it.
john kerry is anti -- conservative?
john kerry is one of the most important and respected political leaders in massachusetts -- that is sad.
john kerry is telling us that 2% is nothing -- yeah, to him I'm sure it is nothing.
john kerry is trying to assure voters that he's more than just another democrat from the liberal state of -- confusion.
john kerry is definitely presidential material -- yeah, you're so #@$&-ing right -- NOT.
john kerry is well -- at least he has his health.
john kerry is one of the biggest tax -- let me see if I can finish this: "and spend liberals?"
john kerry is the only one out there i see who can help al gore -- sadly, Al Gore is now beyond human intervention.
john kerry is not as ?cuddly' as he could be -- don't take me there.
john kerry is accused of limp patriotism -- I could do a lot with this one.
john kerry is guaranteed a free ride in the fall -- in what?
john kerry is his remarkable resemblance to abraham lincoln's horse -- how could I possibly improve on this one? ;)

Grammar Fuhrer
I'm a grammar Nazi, so mind your p's and q's!

You are the grammar Fuhrer. All bow to your
authority. You will crush all the inferior
people under the soles of your jackboots, and
any who question your motives will be
eliminated. Your punishment is being the bane
of every other person's existence, because
you're constantly contradicting stupidity.
Everyone will be gunning for you. Your dreams
of a master race of spellers and grammarians
frighten the masses. You must always watch your
back. If only your power could be used for good
instead of evil.

What is your grammar aptitude?

I found this fun quiz @ gigglechick. I'm so glad she reduced his size by a couple of hundred pixels, as he is huge in the quiz results. That cold, evil stare is too much at that size. I figure that 100 x 145 is a good medium-sized dose for most adults.

Charity (13) drew this bunny
for me -- I love it. :)

Later...
I should talk about the bunny first, since he's up here. Charity drew him for me as a birthday present, as I've always loved bunnies. She is extremely talented for her age, I think. She also surprised me by doing a lot of cleaning and straightening up while I was gone last night, plus she did the dishes today.

The day went pretty well. I maintained a pretty good attitude, although the day wasn't perfection itself. Cassandra and Mark came over to celebrate my birthday, but they came over at about 11 am to do their laundry as well. Mark had to go sleep in Jason's room because he worked all night, and Cassandra was really sweet and helpful. But she has to talk --- and talk and talk and talk. And what I really wanted to do was listen to Rush, listen to music, read, write, and play with PSP7 -- which is why I gave the kids the day off from homeschool so I didn't have to nag them and check their work. I got to do some of the things I wanted to do, but it was an effort to keep listening and sounding interested. She really is sweet, but I just wanted a little more solitude today. She did make dinner and dessert. She made stir-fry chicken & vegetables with rice. And for dessert -- German chocolate cake and ice cream.

I will say this about Cassandra -- I think because she has given us such a hard time in the past (since about age 3) and also because of her personality and nature -- she is the child that will make sure that we have family events and get-togethers from now until we're dead. As long as she draws breath, I know she will be there for me, whether I like it or not. ;) But really, I am very grateful that she's getting herself together -- sometimes it's just too much love for me. Oh, and she got me some nice foot spa stuff, which is more her thing, but I'm sure I'll still enjoy it.

Jason walked in from work with a beautiful birthday card covered in butterflies, and a BEautiful purple shamrock plant in a very pretty ceramic pot with purple flowers -- the boy knows what I like. It's amazing! And he got it home safely in his moped -- will wonders never cease? They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and I'll be sure to take some as soon as I get camera batteries. It's so cool to have big kids, but also kind of sad. Sometimes as a mom you miss the the crude crayon cards and drawings on lined notebook paper -- funny how that is.

Ian and Christopher -- they fought a little less. Christopher wanted to make an animated graphic for me, but that's code for "Mom, I want to play on your computer."

admit my age, because I'm okay with it.

I may as well be happy about it. Actually, I don't really mind at all. I don't know if it's the medication, the blogging, or the fact that Scott is actually here for my birthday this year -- or all of the above. I can't remember the last time I felt truly happy and content on a birthday, but I do today. It means so much. I don't feel like anything could really make it a better day.

Thank you to everyone who has wished me a happy birthday. It's so great to have all you cyber-friends. :)

Lurching toward DIM defeat...

At least that is what I think after reading John Kerry's latest remarks in this NewsMax article. When he's not suffering from Tourette's, he's saying that those who oppose him are 'crooked' liars'. This is not warming my heart toward Lurch at all. The only thing he really stands for is that he's against Bush and he's for tax increases. Everything that comes out of his mouth is whatever he thinks he has to say to whatever group to get their vote.

If you would like to volunteer and/or donate to the Bush campaign, please do. Get involved. Here is where you click to find out more about Wictory Wednesday if you're interested in joining. The other Wictory Wednesday bloggers are in my right column, which seems quite appropriate.

Tuesday, March 09, 2004

I've been goofing off a lot today. I'm really wanting to learn more about pixel art, etc. If and when I make some new stuff I'll be sure to show it off -- you know how I am.

Anyway, I thought I would share a really lame cool new trick I'm learning. Most people are more disciplined than I am. I am self-defeating when it comes to goals that I don't like that I need to do. No matter what, I am me when it comes to not cleaning. I have no routines because I think I hate them. But, I really don't -- I just think I do because I try to do all or nothing instead of taking baby steps.

Anyway, I get up every morning and make a sandwich for Scott. I do that 5 days a week, and then I usually get on the computer or go back to bed. Well, I am trying to establish a routine -- as much as I hate to. I have been spending about 5 minutes cleaning Ian and Christopher's bathroom after I make Scott's lunch. I have been doing that 5 days a week since the beginning of March. I could voluntarily use that bathroom now -- or allow guests in there. I figure if I can manage that for a whole month, then maybe I can add a new one for April.

Don't get me wrong -- we're not slobs here. I just don't have a regular time for doing things. If I did, things would stay pretty easy to clean around here. While routines don't come naturally to me, I can learn them, right???

Obi Padi Piglet

My babies

I was reading BrykMantra this morning, and he has some great news! He's adopting a rescue animal -- a sheltie named Molly. Well, I can't help but be pleased to hear that he's getting a sheltie. They're my favorite breed of dog, and we have 2 of them.

I was going to take new pictures of the dogs this morning, but silly me, I left my new camera on, and the batteries are dead. :( So I put up some older ones. Padi has much longer hair now. Padi and Obi are wonderful dogs, and very, very smart. Shelties move very gracefully and have such beautiful coats. And shelties that are indoor dogs -- while quite hairy -- don't stink. Seriously, they don't have much of a dog smell. They love to play, and they learn tricks very quickly. Padi is older and knows more tricks than Obi, but Obi is my "lap-sheltie". Obi will jump up on my lap several times a day. It seems like it should hurt, but he's so careful when he jumps that it never does, although sometimes he really startles me if I'm not expecting it. ;)

Piglet, the miniature dachshund, is our auxiliary dog. She's our backup. Her job is to overreact to everything, and in case of a real EVENT, add a higher octave to the barking chorus. Also, she wears all the cute sweaters, as shelties don't need them.

I've missed the last few Mondays, but I'm starting over today. This looks like a fun one. I'm supposed to use the letters in my name to list words to describe myself.
Mommy
Intelligent
Creative
Happy
Enthusiastic (at least for the moment)
Loving
Laughing
Enjoying my life
"*And as a bonus question, using the same letters, make a list of things you would like to do before this calendar year is over."
Make this blog better ;)
Increase my knowledge
Cherish my loved ones more
Help others more
Eat healthier
Lose weight
Leave my worries with God more
Elect Bush! :)
