My brother's new bike shop, Forces of Nature is in the news!

'The Forces have been interested in mountain biking since they met eight years ago. They moved to St. Joseph four years ago while Mr. Force was working as a telephone engineer in Kansas City. Then, a year and a half ago, Mr. Force's company moved to St. Louis.

"We were sad because we didn't want to move, but we put our house up for sale and planned on moving," Mrs. Force said.

But their historic 1890 house which they had restored themselves wasn't selling, so Mr. Force worked in St. Louis four days of the week for 18 months.'

Otto told me about this, and it looks like so much fun that I'm going to join it. This is the little patch I made, which looks a little like a shadow box with the shadow filter applied to it -- coolness. Anyway, it may take me a few days, but when I get my friendship wall together, I'll be sure to post again and put up a linky.

Do you like it? I think I do, but I don't know how to use it yet. So far I have only managed to take a picture of the top of my dog's head, and that was completely by accident. I don't know what I did wrong/right that time. This will require sitting down with a thick instruction manual -- oh joy. I don't mean to complain -- I'm just lazy. I want someone else to read the instruction manual and learn everything. Then they can show me. But it's not meant to be -- wish me luck. ;)

This tool is a fun illustration toy that lets you play around with a line drawing. These two graphics are what I came up with from the same drawing. There are all kinds of settings you can play with to add colors, more scribbles, or thicker lines. It's lots of fun, and I'm sure I'll be using it again.

I sewed a Cozy Blog Quilt to my right column. See it? Those are the blogs that I usually visit daily. I will probably add more later, but as of today, those are the blogs I visit most.

This is Wednesday (I'm lying, but I control the date on this post). As I was saying, it's never too late for Wictory Wednesday, especially in light of what's going on in San Francisco. I'm so glad that GWB is standing up for traditional marriage. While John Kerry may say that he doesn't support gay marriage, how could I possibly trust him? He seems to be a morally bankrupt liar who would say anything to get elected. He knows the majority of Americans are against gay marriage, so for now he will say he's against it too. Traditional marriage to him is marrying wealthy women for their money, but then not being faithful to them.

If you would like to volunteer and/or donate to the Bush campaign, please do. Get involved. Here is where you click to find out more about Wictory Wednesday if you're interested in joining. Here are the other Wictory Wednesday bloggers:

Pam took the bait and is the official winner! I was testing my blog in my last post to see if anyone was still reading, and I have one reader! If my head really fallen off, I probably wouldn't have sewn my head back on. I would have used Super Glue. Had it been a real emergency, you would have received instructions on where to go and what to do...

What did Pam win? I don't know. I could send her a hot check, a crocheted scrunchie, a 100% duct tape wallet, or I could just say Pam alot, like this: Pam, Pam, Pam, Pam, Pamity Pam, Wonderful Pam!

Anyway, would anyone care to guess what movie the quote from the previous post came from? I love to say that to Scott to see if he's paying attention.

This morning my head fell off, but I was able to sew it back on with dental floss --- waxed, of course.

I found this while going thorough some photos and stuff my mom gave me. I e-mailed a long list to her back in April 1997. I've changed quite a bit since then, so I'll share what still applies to me now (about 1/4 of the original list):

The Secrets of Happiness:

  1. Writing every day -- even the aggravating and mundane stuff

  2. Reading comedy books, how-to books, inspirational books, book-books, and books

  3. Keeping a prayer in my heart

  4. John Candy

  5. Finding a cheap or free solution to a problem

  6. An abundance of earplugs

  7. Dave Barry

  8. Bananas

  9. A soak in the tub with a good book and aromatherapy

  10. The smell of lemons

  11. 100% cotton

  12. A purring cat

  13. Enya

  14. A low-maintenance friend

  15. Taking a nap

  16. The aroma of cedar

  17. Screening my calls on a bad day

  18. Hydrogen peroxide

  19. Weird Al Yankovic

  20. An old quilt

  21. Honey

  22. Chris Farley

  23. The stars on a clear night

  24. Woodstoves

  25. Oil lamps

I didn't post how our "clean sweep" went on Saturday. It took all day with a few breaks to get Christopher's room finished, but it looks great! He's so happy about his room that he even came and hugged me again this morning for helping him. It makes him so happy to have so much space in his room, and to be able to find his toys. So today, we're working on Ian's room. I'm letting this be a day off school for Charity, Ian & Christopher as long as they help. This time we're moving everything from Ian's room out on the porch, and once that is done, we'll move the "keep" pile into the house and separate the toss and donate piles outside.

Anyway, this is so fun while the weather is so nice. I think I'm going to do the master bedroom next -- at least with all my stuff. I may do that tomorrow if I have any energy. Spring cleaning is under way!!!

A couple of times a year I break down and have a good cry, but it is rare for me. Last night was one of those times. I don't even know why I have to -- maybe I just bottle up my emotions until I can't hold them anymore. When it comes to crying, I really wish I could completely avoid it. That is one thing I envy about men is that from my experience they hardly ever cry. Life is unfair.
