Light blogging because...
I took Bro. Stevens into town to do his laundry, and as always the quicker I want to get home, the longer it takes. And when we went to the grocery store, he tripped and almost did a nosedive onto the pavement. I'm so glad he didn't!
So anyway, this was the one day that Scott was sick in the last couple of years or so and came home from work, and I was off hauling Bro. Stevens around. Scott is feeling better, so we were able to go out tonight to celebrate Valentine's Day. We just went out to eat. He tried to take me to buy a new digital camera, but they were sold out of the one he wanted to get for me. I just got him some Dr. Pepper, candy & an "I Love You" ballon. He seemed pretty happy, especially since he had been shopping on Ebay today for parts for the Suburban.
I only spent a couple of hours at home today, and that was all taken up with my new expansion pack to The Sims -- Makin' Magic. Under the circumstances, I had no choice but to play my new game.
Yep, we're gonna spend that tax return fast. #posted by *2flower* | All comments have been lost. :(

What is it about this guy?
Is John eFf'ing Kerry really living up to his name? I could barely get to the story on Drudge today. This guy looks like an old leather handbag (or a hound dog) and manages to attract rich heiresses and now other women, apparently. I just don't get it. But then, I never got Bill Clinton's attraction either. He's like a big cootie. #posted by *2flower* | All comments have been lost. :(
Rush mentioned that he looks like a hound dog.I know that this photo should be enough evidence for you to vote for Bush, but if you need to read up on Kerry, may I suggest this wonderful website: Vietnam Vets Against John Kerry. A pretty interesting read.
So if you don't want to take a chance on "You Ain't Nothin' But A Hound Dog" being stuck in your head for the next four years (which is a great song BTW, but enough is enough!), then vote for Bush! If you would like to volunteer and/or donate to the Bush campaign, please do. Get involved. Here is where you click to find out more about Wictory Wednesday if you're interested in joining. More Blogger Woes
So after last night's template fiasco, I try to publish my book rating for Anna Karenina this morning, and I get an error. I can't access my template at all now. I'm getting "Error: We apologize for the inconvenience, but we are unable to process your request at this time. Our engineers have been notified of this problem and will work to resolve it." But when I checked under Publishing, I found this: "There Were Errors in Publishing.
002 Your main template is empty." Now that's just great. I'll bet that whatever is happening today is the same thing that erased 2/3 of my template last night. It's a really good thing I made a backup last night.
OK, so it's back, but it didn't save my book rating. Arggh!
OK, finally. #posted by *2flower* | All comments have been lost. :(

Ah-CHOO!!!
Did you hear that at your house? I have never been one of those dainty sneezers that I've always envied. When I sneeze, everybody knows about it. I get it over with the first time. I have very little warning. So I've been sneezing a lot more frequently -- maybe every hour or more today. And it HURTS. And ladies who have given birth -- you know how fun that is to have to sneeze or cough a lot. I think I have a head cold. At the least I have a bad sinus infection. Good night -- I'm going try to sleep. #posted by *2flower* | All comments have been lost. :(
Eeekkk!
I erased over half my template somehow, so I spent over an hour fixing it. There's still a problem with my font on my comments down near the bottom of the page -- don't know what's up with that, but I'm not going to complain at this point. Whew, I thought I had lost everything. I'm going to copy my template and save it on my computer tonight so I'll have a copy just in case I do something dumb again. :P #posted by *2flower* | All comments have been lost. :(
I've been visiting Buzz for awhile now, so I thought I would try to Blog it Forward, because it's a great idea. I hope I'm doing it right.
the deeper thinker: I found this blog -- looks like a brand new one -- that's linked to me. It's getting off to a really great start (besides linking to me, LOL) with some great conservative posts and links. One of the posts links to this article: Popping Pills in Preschool -- unbelievable that they're giving 3-year-olds Prozac and other anti-depressants.
I can't resist blogging Pam forward, because of her post Then and Now. I goes right along the same topic -- the difference between what childhood used to be, and what it is like now. My mom used to lock my brother and I out too, LOL. I'm sure it would be called child abuse now, but back then it was a way to get us away from the TV and get some peace. ;) We could be gone all day playing, and as long as we were back by dark it was OK.
And last but not least, Grumbleezehas found a really cool tool called Tilemaker, which is lots of fun. She shows some of the tiles she's made. There's a whole gallery of tiles to look through on Tilemaker that other people have made as well. If you look to your left you will see the one that I made there. I'm sure you can probably see I like it. ;) Grumbleeze has given me a lot of linkin' lovin' lately. She's also involved in Blogs for Bush and Wictory Wednesday, so I happen to think she's pretty cool. :) #posted by *2flower* | All comments have been lost. :(
Ugh
I started feeling down last night. Sometimes I think I get overloaded with too much "news and information". I suppose that "news" is negative, huh? Good news is usually not that interesting to journalists. So today I'm going to avoid reading it. I can catch up another day. I was still going to listen to Rush, but I remembered I can also catch up later, because my husband has a subscription to Rush 24/7. I think politics troubles me most during election years.
Want to know the most troubling story I read? It brings back many bad memories. I found it at Absinthe & Cookies. She survived hell herself by dropping out. The article truly could have been about my son Jason. He not only suffered at the hands of his peers -- getting suspended along with the kids who picked on him -- but he even got picked on by some of the teachers. I'm so glad I took him out and homeschooled him before he completely lost hope. Maybe someday I'll write an in-depth post on it, but I'm not up to it today.
I went through a lot in school, too. When it got the worst was in junior high when I lived in SC. By the time I was in junior high, I didn't fit in with any of the kids. The only kids that liked me and were my friends were the druggies. I'm so glad I moved before I became one of them. When I moved to Arkansas, I was able to completely start over again. I think it was what saved me, although I never was a popular kid. It was a much bigger school, and no one knew that much about me. I got to be kinda cool at first because I had a good wardrobe. ;) I was able to blend in and avoid contoversy most of my last four years in school. I could also write an in-depth account of what I went through at school and on the bus, but not today.
Today I'm only going to read a few fun blogs. I think I'll skip the political stuff today. I'm listening to Enya, and I think I'll watch a few good movies on my DVD player while I clean my bedroom. Then I'll break out the crochet. This afternoon I'll work on the rest of the living room/ kitchen area and make dinner -- Chili and cornbread tonight. #posted by *2flower* | All comments have been lost. :(
1. On Sunday afternoon, I like to just... take a nap. 2. I'm behind someone at a traffic light, the light turns green and they just sit there, I... wait a few seconds before I honk. 3. My immediate reaction to someone making a nasty remark to me is... control myself -- and get upset later. If it's an immediate family member, I let them have it. ;) 4. If I had to live in a state/country where it was cold most of the year, I would... probably enjoy it. 5. When the weather outside is hot and humid, I prefer to... stay inside where it's cool. 6. My favorite 'comfy' clothes to wear around the house is... cotton-blend knit shirts and pants. 7. If given a deadline at work/school to finish a project, I usually... It depends. If I don't want to do it I wait until the last minute or later. 8. If someone gave me a pet for my birthday, I would... laugh at them and make them take 2 pets home with them. 9. As far as watching the clock on weekends, I... usually don't have any reason to. 10. I usually wash my car about every... used to be every time my husband griped. ;) But now I usually wash it before that point at a car wash that has rainbow-striped soap suds and lets you swipe a credit card. #posted by *2flower* | All comments have been lost. :(

Just do your job, fools
Drew Barrymore is a twit. Sorry, but it's official. She received a Dove of Peace as a new member of "Artists for the U.N.", and she will most likely be showing it off proudly at the Academy Awards. I never planned on watching the Academy Awards anyway, but now I won't be going to see her in 50 First Dates next weekend as I had planned.
I've been thinking about it a lot ever since the start of the war in Iraq, and today I finally have my answer. It bothers me when actors and singers that I like become liberal activists. And for awhile, I wondered if that was really fair of me. After all, I have my political opinions, and I often share them. Why shouldn't they be able to do the same?
Well, they can. They can say whatever they want. But they are in a unique position, because they are entertainers. If they tick people off, they're going to stop listening to their music and watching their movies. And that's not censorship -- that's the way it is. Entertainment is all about being entertained. It's an escape, and people want to forget everything and be somewhere else for awhile. And so if I'm watching a movie with -- let's say Barbra Streisand in it (not like I would) -- I want to be able to forget that she's BS (not like I could) and believe that she is Yentil or whatever. But how can I do that in light of all the inane things she's said over the years?
So anyway, I can say what I want on here, and if people don't like it they can leave rude comments or just not bother coming back. My livelihood does not depend on this -- it's a hobby. I have nothing to lose, really. I could get my feelings hurt, but it's not going to affect my (empty) bank account. #posted by *2flower* | All comments have been lost. :(
Misc.
We didn't go to church today because it's Stake Conference, and it would have been a 150-mile round trip that we didn't have the gas to make. So we're spending the day pretty much the same way we did yesterday -- hanging around the house. I realized this morning that because we were sick last Sunday, and because we had bad weather this week, I haven't been anywhere since Friday night last week.
Later...
Well, I went and had a little nap, and only one telemarketer called and woke me up. I feel a little more alert than I did earlier this morning. Now that I think about it, I was getting kinda bored because many people hadn't posted yet. Well duh, why didn't I post something? ;) But I guess it really wouldn't have been high-quality judging by my previous paragraph. I put myself to sleep.
I was telling my mom about my previous post -- the people who filled their house up with stuff from Ebay. She told me about that show called Clean Sweep on TLC, and she said I might enjoy it. I don't watch much TV, but I watched an episode last night. It was OK, but I really hated most of the "decorating" they did. I'm sure the extra storage will help somewhat, but I think that it will fill up quickly -- based on the premise that people are always accumulating stuff, but some of us (myself included) have to remember to keep a balance and make sure that we have as much stuff going out as we have coming in. That seems to be a hard concept for a lot of us. #posted by *2flower* | All comments have been lost. :(

I have to be me -- everyone else was already taken.
