This is such a cool thing -- a self-writing blog! Here is what I got out of it when I typed in Hillary Clinton and entered it in the text box:

Poison has a new name: Hillary Clinton

Clearly, Hillary Clinton wants to have her cake and eat it, too.

The pro-Manhattan ilk bias in the media is pervasive. The most unmistakably Jazzercized of the Democrats, Hillary Clinton, is critical of George W. Bush again. "Since Sept. 11 we've squandered our goodwill," she said on Nightline. I suppose she'd rather invite the dirty bomber over and hold a sensitivity training session.

The only word for it is pro-Saddam -- and anti-war.

My satellite connection was down this morning, so I have been playing around with some HTML in Notepad -- nothing that really accomplished anything. I've also been watching Mr. Bean today on Windows Media Player in skin mode so that I can do other things too.

I don't really have anything profound to say at the moment, I'm just posting to post. That is just sad.

OK, I have a topic. People in our church are actually praying for an organist transplant. I don't know this for sure of course -- I only know from my observations, the opinions of my family, and from those who have talked to Scott.

It all started when Scott started learning to play the organ, which until that point had just sat there for many years because no one knew how to play it. Since almost every job in my church is voluntary, this woman was never hired to play the organ. No one with ears would have ever done that. She was one of three pianists asked to play the piano. And she plays the piano OK -- I'll give her that. But once Scott started playing the organ, she decided that she can play the organ too. And she plays it so much like what you would hear at a carnival or a baseball game, only with lots of mistakes on top of that. I want to stand up and yell, "Play ball!" after every hymn. I almost have to leave the room to keep from laughing. And the poor chorister. I know her well, and she is a serious perfectionist. I have no idea how she keeps a straight face. It must seriously grate on her nerves.

So it's ridiculous -- a whole roomful of people trying to sing hymns to horrible organ music, and pretend not to notice. It's really funny when you think about it. No one has the heart or the the courage to tell her she is awful -- yet. Although it's her turn again tomorrow, and the people are getting restless.

Well, today didn't quite turn out the way I'd planned. You know, that's usually why I hate to make plans. Cassandra didn't have her appointment time right, so we were late and she had to reschedule. So we got the ingredients for dinner and came home. And I had a splitting migrane and severe ~~cramps~~ by that time. You know, the kind of cramps where weasels are gnawing at your internal organs and pulling the bits out through your lower spine? And I had to go to bed for a few hours with my friend the heating pad, {{{{my lavender eye pillow}}}} -- I LOVE it almost as much as the carpet shampooer -- and my 2 nap buddies Padi and Gammie. Cassandra left and went to help a friend babysit, and Scott will come home in a few minutes to no dinner and a wife who is NOT going to cook and doesn't want to shop. But if he takes me out to eat something good, I may go shopping with him. Maybe I can load up on a little more Aleve.

This is the best thing that happened today -- I finished my project:

And this pretty much sums up how I feel about Wesley Clark.

I'm headed into town -- got a lot to do today. I have to take Cassandra in for an appointment, etc. I have to go back in and grocery shop probably tonight. That should take up most of my day.

On a positive note, I have a new "art" project in the works. I'm really excited about it, but it's not quite done yet. I will try to put it up this afternoon or tonight if I have the chance to finish it. The best I can do right now is leave you another from my Kids in the Hall series:

I'm pinching your face!

It may not be as funny, because it looks like someone else already pinched his face. I know who, too.

Have a great day!

I'm not even interested in this article. I just want an excuse to put the picture up again. ;)

Here is where you can read about it. It's so easy for me to believe. All her songs, clothes, actions -- her sucking the lips off Madonna at the MTV awards -- everything about her "like, totally" shows how much she embraces traditional values. Uh-huh.

An excellent article by David Kupelian. I love all his articles that I've read, and this one is no exception. I didn't realize the degree to which our children are being targeted. Scary.

  • I got rid of BlogSnob because I'm extra-picky about the links that show up on my page and I was getting some questionable ones. But yesterday in Site Meter I clicked into a blog that had featured my link and it was a p0rn site -- and I saw b00bies, etc. And it didn't thrill me. I know that BlobSnob can't control the people that sign up, so I don't blame them. I'm just very particular, and I despise p0rn.
  • I made an RSS feed -- that XML thing in my left column. I don't really know what it does, but there it is. I can now say I have one in case anyone asks. There's also a linky-thingy on it that takes you to the place where I made my RSS feed. And good luck to you.
  • I added a few more blogs to Blogrolling, but it's only showing up on my page part-time. What's up with that?
  • I'm getting a page error again. It's driving me nuts. WHY??? This is beyond obsession...

Even though I've been involved in Blogs for Bush, I have procrastinated joining Wictory Wednesday for awhile because I'm incredibly inconsistent by nature. However, I do support our president, so I'm going to do this because there is always a chance that even my feeble contribution could help his campaign. I don't want to continue to take the attitude that I'm unqualified to write about politics. After all, I'm a voter. That should be the only qualification I need. I'm beginning to see the real value of blogging, as it truly puts the power of the "printing press" in the hands of the everyday person. I'm not particularly comfortable writing my political thoughts, and even less excited about debating them with people. Maybe it's a lack of confidence -- not in my ideals but in my writing/debating skills. Plus there are so many people out there writing similar views to mine already -- I can't even begin to read it all.

So my profound political thought for Wictory Wednesday -- hmmmm... Well, I know what I'll talk about. I'm reading Anna Karenina right now, and one of the many lessons in the book is that big city life changes people in ways that are negative. I'm not criticizing those out there living in big cities who have managed to cling to their conservative views. But you are in the minority. If you were alive and had any access to a TV or internet, you remember the election results maps that showed the Bush/Gore (red/blue) states. Did you look at the county results maps too? Did you notice that the results by counties were mostly Bush wins? This was understood by the founding fathers who wanted to keep a balance between "city values" and the values of more rural areas, which is one reason why there are so many built-in checks and balances in the way that we elect our president. If we had had a direct election, Al Gore (shudder) would be our president. But direct election would have given those living in high population areas more power than those in rural areas, and those in rural areas would have been "disenfranchised". Candidates would have no reason to even care about us in "flyover country" and the rural areas would be under-represented. Is it any wonder at all that Hitlery -- I mean Hillary -- back in November 2000 proposed a constitutional amendment for dumping the Electoral College in favor of direct election? Anyway, I was somewhat scarred by the whole 2000 election controversy and the fear that we were going to be stuck with 4 years of Gore. Thankfully, it all worked out. ~~whew!~~ I can't even imagine a post 9-11 with Al Gore in charge.

So while none of this is breaking news, it is my contribution to why I support Bush. He is not a liberal. ;) If you would like to volunteer and/or donate to the Bush campaign, please do. Get involved. Even *I* am trying to do my part, LOL. Here is where you click to find out more about Wictory Wednesday if you're interested in joining.

I'm just a little picky and cranky today. Everyone and everything is getting on my nerves again. I must be turning into a cat. I'm still lazing around in my nightgown & robe ensemble. I'm not feeling very well this morning/afternoon and stayed in bed until 11 am. But this morning when Scott was up getting ready for work I was awake. I read Anna Karenina again for awhile (I have under 100 pages left). Unfortunately, when I laid my head back on the pillow this morning, I inhaled something -- a tiny piece of lint or a feather from my pillow or something. That was not fun. I felt like a cat hacking up a hairball. Whatever it was, I eventually got over the hacking, but I still feel a tickly feeling in my throat -- probably psychosomatic.

Ian is 12 today. He is my 4th child, the kid formerly known as "danger baby", "Smiles a Lot" (from Dances With Wolves) and "Guy Smiley". He is the most interesting kid. As a newborn he was quiet -- so quiet I was worried I wouldn't hear him cry at night. He was also fascinated with his hands. We have him on video when we brought him home from the hospital. He looked like he was doing sign language. When he got a little older he looked just like a little man, and he would smile a lot. He was a very happy baby most of the time. Once he became mobile, he loved to push buttons, and when you told him "no", it was just part of a fun game. He earned the "danger baby" nickname, because he always had a sixth sense for finding danger. We used to play a game where we would hold up 2 objects, and he would ALWAYS reach for the dangerous object. When he learned to walk, he was so funny to watch, because he totally swaggered like a cowboy. On his 2nd birthday, when we were singing "Happy Birthday" to him, he freaked out and was yelling "shut up" at everyone. We were laughing so hard that it was hard to finish the song. I think that was about when the trouble really started. But he is beginning to get that temper under control more now. We have often thought that instead of having a short fuse, he never had a fuse, LOL. He's just getting out of the phase where he has to take everything apart to see how it works (worked, LOL). I have no doubt that he will have a job dismantling and/or re-building things someday.

P.S. Ian hates the flat-top picture, so imagine him with much longer, cooler-looking hair, OK?

P.S. Again (can't remember how you do that) Scott just reminded me that Ian was also crowned "King Vitamin" at age two when he ate some vitamins with iron and had to have his stomach pumped. :P

When I marry Orlando Bloom who is adorable, but way too young for me. Not to mention I'm already quite happily married to somebody better. I'm sorry Orlando, you were the best possible quiz result, but I'm already taken. I think my 13-year-old likes you if it's any consolation. I have somewhat recovered from my earlier expedition. I usually take my weekly trips into town with Brother S. in stride, but today I completely lost all ability to smile. My sense of humor took a vacation, and it's still not completely back. And I need it, because it's what gets me through every day. And then I came home to tension and a mess, and there are just too many people and pets in my house right now. I forsee that there will be trouble.

And January is usually a good month for us -- the month we celebrate our anniversary. And I don't even want to get up and throw together a meatloaf for my beloved. And I'm not mad at him -- just experiencing some really... blahs today.

Brother Stevens needs to be driven around today. I wasn't going to do it, but when it came down to saying no I couldn't do that because I know he needs help. It would cost him $25 to take a taxi to run his errands. So that's what I'll be doing for half my day. It wouldn't bother me so much if I could listen to the radio or complete a single thought without him saying, "Hey Sis, you'll never guess..." And I have known him long enough now to know pretty much everything he's going to say. And it's mentally exhausting to sound interested for that long. However, I keep telling myself that somehow this is good for me. I'm sure it's building my character or something. To know him is to love him, though.

This was really fun to make. I got the idea from this BuzzMachine post I ran across that talked about how Howard Dean's head looks kind of like a thumb or a big toe. Well, I don't really know about that, but since I've talked about how my thumbs look like "toe thumbs" in the past (an unfortunate genetic trait actually called stub thumb), I had had this idea. I've probably watched too much Kids in the Hall, but I thought this really applied to Dean.

...according to this elitist windbag. Here are some of his inane mutterings:

It's the "Stupid factor," the S factor: Some people -- sometimes through no fault of their own -- are just not very bright.

It's not merely that some people are insufficiently intelligent to grasp the nuances of foreign policy, of constitutional law, of macroeconomics or of the variegated interplay of humans and the environment. These aren't the people I'm referring to. The people I'm referring to cannot understand the phenomenon of cause and effect. They're perplexed by issues comprising more than two sides. They don't have the wherewithal to expand the sources of their information. And above all -- far above all -- they don't think.

You know these people; they're all around you (they're not you, else you would not be reading this article this far). They're the ones who keep the puerile shows on TV, who appear as regular recipients of the Darwin Awards, who raise our insurance rates by doing dumb things, who generally make life much more miserable for all of us than it ought to be. Sad to say, they comprise a substantial minority -- perhaps even a majority -- of the populace.
Wow, this guy just astounds me with his intellectual prowess. I wonder if I -- a stupid person -- can find the publish button on this thingy-bobber.
